I was hoping to use MapProxy to convert this WMTS source map with a custom tiling scheme into WMS or TMS (TMS uses a tiling scheme compatible with Google Maps). TMS (Tile Map Service) addresses a tile by numbering the zoom levels, starting from 0. You can specify to return the response in XML format by setting the output parameter to xml. This example returns metadata for aerial imagery that is centered at the specified point with a zoom level of 10. Therefore, I cannot find a way to display the tiles in Google Maps.
